AMMAN —AlGhad— The National Guidance and Media MP Committee, headed by MP Abdullah Obeidat, convened with the government spokesperson and Minister for Media Affairs, Dr Mohammad Momani, along with the Director of the Media Commission, Mohammad Quteishat, to discuss the preview of the movie, Wonder Woman, in Jordan.

Social media campaigns throughout Jordan have been calling to boycott the movie, in an attempt to ban it.

MP Obeidat stated during the meet that the Committee wishes to address the premier himself on the matter, given the “star” of the movie is “Zionist who represents hatred to the Arab and Muslim nations.

The Committee reiterated that allowing for the movie to run in theatres would be destructive of the socio-political stance, historically, of Jordanians.

They also highlighted that she has explicitly expressed hostility towards the Palestinians.

On the government’s part, Momani persisted that the respective media body will review the film.

Should there be no legal obstacle, the film will be allowed to run.
