KARAK —AlGhad— Residents of Momya, a town in the South Jordanian governorate of Karak, yesterday, Sunday, took to the streets in protest over the long-time disruption of water supply, and ended up blocking the highway connecting Karak to the South Jordan Valley with vehicles and burnt tires.

Protesting youth kept the streets blocked until the water authorities supplied their town with water.

For their part, the Administration of the Karak Water Authority confirmed to AlGhad that no long-time disruption of the water supply had taken place. Water was being pumped to the town on schedule, every week, on Sundays.

Notably, the residents of the Southern Jordanian town had begun their protests early on during the first few days of Ramadan.
