MAFRAQ —AlGhad— An informed source in the Ruban Syrian refugee camp confirmed to AlGhad that an explosion had taken place Tuesday afternoon, inside the camp, killing two and injuring three others, all of the same family.

The source said the children found an explosive canister and brought it back to their tent, before it exploded and killed the father and one of the children.

The mother and her two other children were injured in the blast.

According to the Palmyra and Syrian Badia Tribes Council, accounts on the nature of the explosion vary.

It may have been caused by the explosion of kitchen or heating equipment, even though the Council think it is more likely to be kids playing around with a canister.

Council Deputy and member of the Rukban Camp Aide office, Mohammad Derbas, said the injured were transported to a field hospital inside the camp.

Meanwhile, Derbas said, there are efforts underway to get the injured through the Jordanian borders, given their conditions.

So far, there are no official statements on whether or not any casualties have been allowed into the Jordanian territory.
