Anti-Corruption Chief Says Bribery on the Rise!

AMMAN —AlGhad— The Chairman of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, Mohammad Allaf, said that one of the most major aspects of corruption in Jordan, related to large corporations and their dealings, has been addressed.

Meanwhile, the Commission has categorised 20 sectors in which the more scalable forms of corruption take place.

Petty corruption, however, mainly bribery, seem to be on the rise, says Chairman Allaf, at a panel organised by the Jordan Strategy Forum (JSF) today, Saturday.

Additionally, Allaf highlighted that the Commission has recommended amendments to nearly 1,200 standing legislations, laws, and regulations, to address loopholes in the system.

During the session, covered by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Allaf said that the Code of Conduct will prove crucial to enforcing integrity in the public sector.
