Funding for Syria Crisis Response Plan at 8.5%

AMMAN —AlGhad— Funding for the Syria Crisis Response Plan during the first half of the current year, H1-2017, stands at 8.5 per cent of the year’s total requirement, JOD2.657 billion, according to the Jordan Response Platform for the Syria Crisis (JRPSC).

So far, Jordan has received JOD226.6 million, including JOD80.3 million allocated to support Syrian Refugees, and JOD146.3 million under the “Response” criteria.

Meanwhile, nothing was received to support the budget.

Three months into the year 2017, funding stood at 5.4 per cent, whereas last year, funding stood at 62 per cent.

Jordan currently hosts 1.4 million Syrian refugees, comprising 20 per cent of the Kingdom’s demographic.
