Business: 25 Local, Int’l Companies Apply for Licence by LTRC

AMMAN —AlGhad— Chairman of the Land Transportation Regulatory Commission (LTRC), Salah Louzi, uncovered to AlGhad that, so far, 25 local and international businesses have applied for licencing by the LTRC for app-based business models.

The LTRC is currently looking into these recently filed applications, whereas the previously published regulation are still under review.

Several carpooling companies have complained about the regulations issued by the Commission.

The LTRC’s regulations impose fees on part-time employees, and significantly increases the costs of operating carpooling platforms in Jordan, notwithstanding other issues.
