RAMALLAH —AlGhad— Packs of Israeli extremist settlers stormed the courtyards of the Aqsa Mosque complex in the occupied city of Jerusalem, as many others raided Palestinian homes in Um Khair earlier today, Sunday, East of Yattah, South of the West Bank city of Hebron, Palestinian sources have confirmed.

In the meantime, occupation soldiers arrested 17 Palestinians during early raids in different parts in the West Bank, according to a statement by the Palestinian Prisoner's Society.

Director of Islamic Endowments and Aqsa Mosque Affairs, Sheikh Azzam Khatib said the settlers stormed the courtyards of the Complex via the Al Magharbeh Gate under cover of Israeli occupation soldiers.

Al Khatib told Jordan news agency Petra that more than 140 settlers were seen storming the complex, including extremist rabbis.

Meanwhile, Ratib Jabour, coordinator of the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Hebron, said that a group of Jewish settlers threw stones and Molotov cocktails at a number of houses in Um al-Khair area.

According to Jabour’s statement, the settlers came from the illegal settlement of "Karmaiil", built on Palestinian-owned lands in Yattah

The extremists' attack caused damage to the houses and spread fear among the inhabitants, mainly children and women, the statement added, but no human casualties were reported.
