AMMAN —AlGhad— The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Eng Emad Fakhouri, stated that Jordan is working on holding a convention, presided by the European Union, at the UN General Assembly in New York, US, next month, to follow on the international donors commitments to supporting the Kingdom

According to the London and Brussels donors’ convention in 2016 and 2017, the donors should be committed to providing USD2.65 billion to Jordan, annually, over the years 2017-2019, totalling at USD7.6 billion.

So far, only 8.5 per cent of the agreed sum annual sum has been facilitated in 2017.

The donor’s agreement is part of a crisis response plan which is designed to aid the Kingdom in facing the challenges arising from the influx of nearly 1.3 million Syrian refugees.
