King Arrives in Ramallah for Talks with Palestine President Abbas

RAMALLAH —AlGhad— His Majesty King Abdullah II Monday arrived in Ramallah in an official visit, to meet with the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, today, Monday.

His Majesty also met with a number of Palestinian officials, to discuss recent developments in the Palestinian situation.

During the meet, King Abdullah stressed on Jordan’s full support of the Palestinian people’s just and rightful cause, and their right to establish an autonomous Palestinian State.

Talks underlined the importance of working with the US Administration to mobilise the peace process, and advance negotiations in accordance to the Two-State Solution.

Upon arrival, the two leaders reviewed a guard of honour as a military band played the national anthem of both countries.

The meet was attended by Chairman of the Hashemite Royal Court, the Foreign Minister, the General Intelligence Director, and Director of the King’s Office, as well as the Chairman of Jordan’s representative office in Ramallah.

On the Palestinian side, the Prime Minister, the Secretary General of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO), the Foreign Minister, and the Prime Ministry’s Secretary General, alongside the Palestinian intelligence director, and the Palestinian Ambassador in Amman.

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein was sworn in as Regent in the presence of Cabinet member.
