Tax Revenues Down 2.6% in H1-2017

AMMAN —AlGhad— The Treasury’s revenue from taxation in the first bi-annual budget for the first 6 months of the year, H1-2017, has declined by JOD53 million, compared to public revenues for the same duration in H1-2016, approximately 2.6 per cent, according to the Ministry of Finance’s bulleting.

Tax revenues in H1-2017 stand at JOD2.24 billion, down from last year’s H1 results, at JOD2.3 billion.

Income from tax operations comprise 67.5 per cent of the entirety of the Treasury’s local revenues in H1-2017, which totals at JOD3.328 billion.

Compared to GDP, revenues from taxation comprise a total of 8 per cent in for the first half of 2017, compared to 8.4 per cent over the same duration last year.
