IEC: Dozens of Int’l, Local Monitors to Oversee Elections

AMMAN —AlGhad— Independent Elections Commission (IEC) spokesperson, Jihad Momani, stated to the press today, that 34 international and local monitory organisations, including parties, associations, and civil society NGOs, have been certified to oversee and monitor the upcoming Municipal and Decentralised Elections.

Locally, 6,128 personnel have been cleared, representing 16 domestic bodies, to overlook the elections process.

183 personnel were validated by the IEC to participate in the monitory processes of the elections, representing 18 foreign organisations.

As for the media, the IEC stated they have certified 1,540 personnel, including journalists, technicians, and photographers, representing 84 different news channels, papers, and media.

Next Sunday, Momani stated, the elections media centre will launch at the Hussein Sports City, under wide media and official coverage.
