More than 320k Gulf Tourists Visit Jordan in 7 Months

AMMAN —AlGhad— More than 320 thousand tourists from Arab Gulf countries have visited Jordan in the first 7 months of the year, 2017, up 6 per cent from last year’s 303.3 thousand, for the same duration.

According to the Minister of Tourism, Lina Annab, the ministry, alongside the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), have been targeting the Arab Gulf in a plan to increase inbound tourism.

In the overall, Annab said, tourism inbound has grown by 9.2 per cent, compared to last year’s figures, for the same duration, from 2.646 million to 2.896 million tourists.

As for the Kingdom’s income from tourism, it has also increased by 14.5 per cent, for the first half of the year, H1-2017, to USD2.1 billion, approximately JOD1.5 billion.

In H1-2016, income from tourism stood at USD1.8 billion.
