AMMAN —AlGhad— Practical steps towards reopening the Karamah-Treibil border crossing between Jordan and Iraq have begun, according to the association of customs, trade, clearance, and shipping companies.

It is likely the crossing will be open by September, after the successful pilot relaunch on Sunday.

The Association called for companies operating at the border crossing to sort themselves out before the end of August.

Iraqi Minister of Interior, Qasim Aaraji, visited the Crossing last Sunday, to follow up on the progress of the relaunch operation, according to the Jordan news agency, Petra.

Aaraji confirmed that the Crossing will be reopened within days.
