AMMAN —AlGhad— Since the Karamah-Treibil border crossing between Jordan and Iraq was reopened last week, an average range of 10 to 15 passenger vehicles have crossed per day, and not a single freight shipment went through.

The border crossing has seen no trade or commercial exchange so far, since August 30th, says Mohammad Khair Dawood, head of the Jordanian truckers association.

Meanwhile, Jordanian exports to Iraq still incur an additional 30 per cent customs rate, which imposed last year, Amman Chamber of Industry board member, Eng Fathi Jaghbir.
