AMMAN —AlGhad— Data on the oil, fuels, and gas sector indicate a 15-20 per cent decline in the Kingdom’s overall demand for fuels and oil derivatives since the beginning of the year, 2017.

Data by the Statistics Department show that Jordan has consumed a total of JOD1.06 billion worth of fuels in the first six months of the year, H1-2017, compared to JOD1.8 billion in H1-2016.

According to the General Manager of the Manaseer Oil and Gas, Eng Yasser AlManaseer, in a statement to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, this is reflective of change in consumer behaviour.

“It reflects the rise of a new culture; a culture of moderated consumption, due to the consecutive increases in fuel prices,” he said.
