AMMAN —AlGhad— The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) has named 28-year old Jordanian engineer, Maher Maymoun, the Energy Innovator of the Year, for his invention of a self-cleaning, slated vibratory surface for solar panels to remove dust without the use of water.

Maymoun’s invention will make solar energy far more efficient, having disposed of the necessity of water in the cleaning process.

Notably, the issue of using water has been a hindrance to the efficiency of solar panels, more or less, especially when it comes to water-scarcity in the drier parts of the world.

Eng Maymoun will be honoured on September 27 at the 2017 Conference and Expo of the World Energy Engineering Congress, in Georgia, USA.

The AEE is a non-profit, professional society founded in 1977, in the United States of America, with over 18 thousand members in more than 100 countries around the world.
