AMMAN —AlGhad— The price per ounce of gold dipped to USD1,275, worldwide, from USD1,355 earlier in September, according to the Secretary General of the Jewellers Association, Ribhi Elayan.

Prices per gram of 24k, 21k, 18k gold have declined, accordingly, to JOD29.5, JOD26.1, and JOD22.2, respectively.

Meanwhile, data on the US dollar is improving as investments worldwide have increased, especially in light of expected interest hikes by the US Federal Reserve.

According to Mr Elayan, gold prices increased recently as a result of the crisis between the US and North Korea, which has settled a bit over the last week or so.

Meanwhile, interest hikes are anticipated in December, whereas Platinum has fallen below the palladium for the first time since 2001.
