AMMAN —AlGhad— His Majesty King Abdullah II, during a visit to the Public Security Directorate (PSD) on Monday, said that the Irbid incident last week does not represent Jordan’s security agencies, and that it was an isolated incident, underscoring that anyone who violates the law should be held accountable.

King Abdullah met with police Director Maj Gen Ahmad Faqih and voiced pride, during the meet, in Jordan’s security agencies and their indispensable efforts.

Moreover, the King stresses that the relationship between security personnel and citizens should be based on mutual respect.

After all, He noted, the message of the public security is to protect citizens and empower the rule of law, according to Petra.

King Abdullah highlighted the need for continuous training of PSD personnel to enable them to carry out their duties in a more competent and effective manner.

He also voiced his confidence in the security personnel’s dedication to fighting crime and preserving the state's authority.

His Majesty also attended separate exercises carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Department, the Royal Department for Environmental Protection and the Preventive Security Department with the use of modern techniques.
