Lebanese Potato Shipment Stranded in Aqaba Docks

AMMAN —AlGhad— The Customs and Finance Commissioner of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), Dr Mahmoud Khuleifat, told AlGhad today, Monday, that a 6-7 tonne shipment of potato from Lebanon has been sealed at the Aqaba Docks, pending re-exportation, confirming that it will not enter the Jordanian market.

Khuleifat explained that the importers had not issued a permit for the 33 shipments which arrived 10 days ago.

Short of an importation permit, their shipment will remain stranded until reshipping.

Meanwhile, Khuleifat did underline that the shipment of potatoes are not infected or spoiled.
