AMMAN —AlGhad— State Minister for Media Affairs Dr Mohammad Momani said during the weekly interview at the Jordanian Television today, Thursday, that the government is not looking for approval or popularity.

Otherwise, the government would not be considering all these tough, unpopular decisions for the greater good of all Jordanians, he added.

The latest opinion survey on the government’s performance, one year after Mulqi formed his second government, may be important, but it is not the cornerstone of governance, at least not according to Momani.

Apparently, this shared concern with the economy is only reflective of the national dialogue, which demands of the government to address and work towards solutions, he underlined.

Momani stressed that the government is focused highly on economic recovery, by advancing solutions to imbalances that have weighed our economy down for years now.

As a result of the government’s approach, for example, the deficit was shrink by nearly JOD450 million this year, he highlighted.
