Occupation arrests 14 Palestinians, Approves 240 Settlement Units

RAMALLAH —AlGhad— Israeli authorities late on Wednesday approved building permits for 240 new settlement units in occupied East Jerusalem, according to the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth, while occupation troops have arrested 14 Palestinians in various cities in the West Bank, a Palestinian source confirmed on Thursday.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society said in a statement that Israeli soldiers stormed the cities of Hebron, Jenin, Bethlehem, Tulkarem and a number of neighbourhoods in the occupied East Jerusalem and arrested 14 citizens.

Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem city Meir Turjeman told the newspaper that the occupation municipality has approved the construction of 150 new housing units in the Ramat Shlomo settlement, north of the city, which is inhabited by a large majority of Jewish extremists, and 90 other units the Gilo settlement".

Israeli occupation forces launch arrest campaigns on a daily basis against dozens of Palestinians in various cities and villages of the West Bank under various pretexts.
