AMMAN —AlGhad— The Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Eng Yaroub Qudah, uncovered today, Saturday, during the Silk Road 3 Conference in Amman, that a deal was recently signed with a major US company to construct an airport and logistics service facility in Mafraq.

Further details on the projects have not been disclosed yet.

However, the facility is part of a comprehensive plan to enable Jordan to play an effective role in the regional reconstruction projects, in both Iraq and Syria, according to the Minister.

Qudah, deputising for the Prime Minister, stated that these projects will help strengthen ties with Jordan’s neighbours.

During the Conference, organised by the Palestinian Business Forum, he underlined that Jordan has successfully increased investment by 81 per cent, comparatively.

In light of other positive economic measures, the Minister explained, joint regional projects of the sort could significantly contribute to the Jordanian economy and the region as a whole.

The Silk Road conference was established in 2011 by numerous business figures from different economic sectors, dedicated to promote investment in Jordan.
