RAMALLAH — Hundreds of extremist settlers early Sunday stormed the Joseph Tomb, east of the West Bank city of Nablus, under heavy protection of Israeli forces.

The Palestinian official in charge of the settlement file in the northern part of the West Bank, Ghassan Dauglas, said in a statement that more than 500 Jewish settlers broke into the eastern part of the city, backed by Israeli military vehicles, and performed their Talmudic rites.

Palestinian residents living near the area said repairs were carried out in the tomb, confirming it was the third time in a month the settlers stormed Joseph Tomb.
