Oil Expenditures Up 21% in 9 Months

AMMAN —AlGhad— The Kingdom’s oil expenditures have increased to some JOD1.5 billion, by approximately 21.1 per cent over the first nine months of the year, 2017, compared to expenditures over the same duration in 2016, at JOD1.3 billion, according to the Department of Statistics.

According to the Department’s bulletin, issued yesterday, Sunday, crude oil imports in these nine months have increased to JOD569.2 million, from JOD412.1 million in the first nine months of 2016.

Import costs of oil and derivatives have increased in total by 21.1 per cent, whereas the combined import costs of machinery, equipment and parts have increased by 51.2 per cent.
