Trump's ‘Jerusalem’ Announcement Sparks Mass Strikes, Clashes in West Bank, Gaza, Jerusalem

RAMALLAH/GAZA —AlGhad— A general strike is declared on Thursday in various West Bank's cities and the occupied Jerusalem in protest against US President Donald Trump’s decision to declare Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and relocate the US embassy to the city.

In Gaza as well, all public and private institutions went on general strike, as called on by Palestinian secular and Islamist factions last night.

Clashes also erupted between the Palestinians with occupation soldiers in different parts in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, denouncing the US decision.

All public and private institutions in the Gaza Strip, early Thursday, declared a general strike in protest against U.S President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and his decision to move the US embassy to the city.

Schools and universities in the besieged Gaza enclave also closed today.
