NAZARETH/CAPITALS — The Likud Central Committee, the party’s top decision-making body, unanimously passed a resolution Sunday urging the faction’s leaders to formally annex parts of the West Bank and allow unlimited construction in the settlements.

Meanwhile, the vote by Likud Central Committee is not binding on the Knesset party members.

However, but does carry political force as Knesset members need the support of the 3,000-member body to succeed in the party’s primaries.

Palestinian members of Knesset rejected the bill, and described it as a manifestation of apartheid, according to AlGhad’s correspondent in Nazareth.

Israeli opposition leaders as well have voiced rejection of the Likud’s vote, deeming it as “irresponsible and impractical”.
