Clashes in Jenin, 1 Palestinian Martyr, 8 Injured by Occupation Gunfire

CAPITALS —AlGhad— Clashes between Palestinians in Barqein, west of Jenin, and Israeli occupation forces since yesterday, Saturday, have resulted in the martyrdom of one Palestinian and the injury of eight others by live Israeli gunfire, on top of dozens suffocated by tear gas.

Reports from Palestinian sources, mainly the Ministry of Health, have confirmed the death of 19-year-old Ahmad Samir Abu Obeid, who was shot yesterday.

The youth took a bullet to the head and was hospitalised.

Earlier today, Sunday, he was pronounced dead, Palestinian news outlet Wafa confirmed.

Head of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Jenin, Mahmoud Saadi, also confirmed that two other Palestinian youths were shot in the leg. Others took bullets in various other locations of their bodies, Saadi said, and confirmed the dozens of suffocation reports that came in over the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation troops early on Sunday arrested 28 Palestinians in various West Bank cities, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Society.

In a statement, the Society said that Israeli soldiers stormed the cities of Ramallah, Hebron, Bethlehem, Jenin and Abu Dees, east of occupied Jerusalem and made the arrests, the Society told Jordan News Agency, Petra.
