King Receives Annual Gov’t Report Summary

AMMAN —AlGhad— His Majesty King Abdullah II received an executive summary of the government’s annual report today, Sunday, showcasing the government’s progress on the various assigned agendas, addressing economic, social, political and administrative reforms and issues related.

The report highlights progress milestones of Dr Hani Mulqi’s government on economic reform agendas, human resources development, employment and labour, administrative reforms, public sector development, anti-graft operations, political and judicial reform, protection and social development and public services.

Premier Mulqi himself submitted the report to His Majesty the King, before leaving to the US to conduct a number of medical procedures.

The report’s top indices include:

-          Actual GDP growth rate at 2 per cent.

-          Decline in deficit by 15 per cent.

-          Increase in public debt, by 4.4 per cent, Jordan’s lowest debt growth rate in 10 years.

-          Increase in domestic revenues by 7.7 per cent.

-          Decline in overall grants and funding by 15 per cent.

-          Self-reliance at 95 per cent in 2017, compared to 90 per cent in 2016.
