Gov’t: Power Prices Up, Fuel Prices Down 0.6-1.5%

AMMAN —AlGhad— The government, Wednesday night, decided to increase power tariffs by JOD0.002 on the kilowatt and lower fuel prices by 0.6 to 1.5 per cent on the litre of Diesel and Octane fuels, as of today, Thursday, March 1st, 2018.

The price per litre of Diesel and Octane-90 fuels has been lowered by JOD0.005, whereas the price of Octane-95 has been lowered by JOD0.015 on the litre.

Meanwhile, the price of Kerosene and house gas cylinders remains unchanged, at JOD0.52 per litre and JOD7.00 per cylinder, respectively.

Accordingly, the new price per litre of Octane-90 and -95 fuels stands at JOD0.760 and JOD0.985, respectively, based on the government’s decisions. The price of Diesel now stands at JOD0.560 per litre.

The price range of oil has reached USD66.63 on the barrel of Brent Crude, compared to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources February benchmark at USD69.2.
