Treasury Bonds Down 24% in 10 Months of 2017

AMMAN —AlGhad— The overall value of Treasury bonds issued by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) has declined by JOD375 million since the beginning of 2018, approximately 37.5 per cent, compared to the same duration in 2017, according to the Finance Ministry’s bulletin.

The Treasury issued, up until the 5th of March, 2018, JOD625 million in bonds and bill, since the beginning of the year.

On the 28th of February, the Treasury held an auction selling the bonds at JOD50 million each, at a two-year maturity rate and 4.139 per cent interest.

The overall value of bills and bonds sold in 2017 has declined by 52 per cent, totalling at JOD2.77 billion, compared to JOD4.21 billion in 2016.
