AMMAN —AlGhad— An informed official source confirmed to AlGhad yesterday, Saturday, that the diplomatic process for the ratification of the assignment of the new Israeli Ambassador to Amman is currently underway by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The source, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, explained that the ministry is preparing its response to the Israeli screening for appointment applications.

Other sources say the most likely Ambassador will be Amir Weissbrod.

Notably, Weissbrod was previously stationed in Amman between the years 2001 and 2004, but not as Ambassador.

Israeli’s mission to Amman has been suspended for the past six months, in the wake of the martyrdom of two Jordanians, one of them not 17 years old, shot by an Israeli guard.

The now-known-as Embassy Incident has caused a diplomatic crisis between Jordan and Israel.
