Palestinian PM Hamdallah's Convoy Attacked

CAPITALS —AlGhad— Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah’s convoy was targeted by an explosion en route to Gaza, but he managed to escape unharmed, while several  of his guards were injured.

One of the vehicles in the convoy appeared to have its windows blown out by the blast - (Reuters)

No group has claimed responsibility of the attack.

However, the Palestinian Authority said it was an assassination attempt by de-facto government in Gaza, Hamas, to sabotage Palestinian reconciliation.

Both the Palestinian Authority and Hamas claim the same thing.

Meanwhile, Hamas also claims the attack is intended to Gaza's security, in addition to "dealing a blow to efforts to finalise reconciliation," according to the BBC.

Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank have been ruled separately since a rift between Hamas and Fatah faction erupted in violence in 2007.
