Jordan, Germany Sign Training Programme for Jordanians, Syrian Refugees

AMMAN — Acting Director General of the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC), Omar Qutaishat, and a delegation of the German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation Tuesday signed an agreement to train Jordanians and Syrian refugees.

It was agreed in a meeting that the training should take place in the VTC's workshops, to raise the efficiency of trainers and choose specialisations that meet the needs of the labour market.

The programme linked training to employment through a partnership with the private sector and cooperation with German institutions and companies to acquire quality training and accredited diplomas. Moreover, it aims to train 1,200 people in the field for 12-15 months.

Director of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, Mohammad Badran, explained that the criteria for the choice of specializations will be according to a study conducted by German specialists. In addition, a workshop will be organized in April for participants with those in charge of the project to highlight key areas of the programme.
