Overall Public Debt at JOD27.5b in Feb-2018

AMMAN —AlGhad— The Ministry of Finance issued its monthly bulletin today, Wednesday, showing Jordan’s overall public debt at JOD27.458 billion, approximately 95.8 per cent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), by the end of February 2018.

Public debt in the end of 2017 stood at JOD27.269 billion, constituting around 95.3 per cent of the Kingdom’s GDP.

The combined debt of the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) and the Water Authority stands at JOD3.7 billion so far in 2018.

Net national debt has also increased by JOD513.2 million from its 2017 levels to fund the General Budget deficit.

Meanwhile, foreign debt stands at JOD1.179 billion by the end of February 2018, compared to JOD1.186 billion in 2017.

Net domestic debt has increased to JOD1.415 billion from JOD1.356 billion in 2017.
