DHAHRAN — The final declaration of the Arab Summit, "Al-Quds Summit", hailed His Majesty King Abdullah II's, Custodian over Islamic and Christian holy cites in Jerusalem, efforts in protecting and preserving Jerusalem's holy shrines.

The summit, which was concluded Sunday in the eastern Saudi city of Dhahran, reiterated rejection of all attempts by Israel, the occupying power, to violate the Hashemite custodianship in the holy city. It lauded the Jordanian role in preserving, protecting and maintaining Islamic and Christian holy cites in Jerusalem within the framework of the historical Hashemite custodianship, which was reaffirmed by the agreement signed between His Majesty King Abdullah and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The summit's resolutions underlined support for the Jordanian administration of the Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque's Awqaf and its role in preserving and protecting the Al-Haram Al-Sharif from Israeli violations and attacks on its employees and demanding Israel to stop these attacks.
