AMMAN —AlGhad— Authorities arrested seven suspects in drug and currency forgery cases over the past few days, across various parts of the Kingdom, a source with the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) told AlGhad today, Saturday.

Two were detained for currency counterfeiting and five for trafficking and promoting narcotics, including two Arab foreigners in two separate smuggling attempts.

Authorities confiscated a remarkable quantity of pills, synthetic weed powder and Hashish, as well as three unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

The two Arab smugglers were arrested trying to smuggle narcotics in and out of Jordan via two different border crossing. The drugs were hidden inside the vehicles.

Upon the conclusion of investigation, all detainees were referred to the Court of State Security’s Attorney General’s office for further legal processing and prosecution.
