Authorities Arrest 3 Drug Dealers in Amman

AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department officers have apprehended three traffickers in possession of drugs and weapons, according to a police statement on Monday.

It said the suspects were under the watchful eyes of investigators after receiving a tip-off they were involved in drug-dealing activities.

Search for evidence tying the suspects to trafficking has produced a smoking gun, said the statement. It pointed out that after locating their whereabouts in a downtown Amman house, police swooped on them and a search of the house yielded 5,000 narcotic pills, 1 kg of cannabis, 4 firearms and quantities of ammunition.

All the suspects were being investigated and will be referred to judicial authorities, the statement concluded.
