AMMAN —AlGhad— Authorities arrested over a dozen drug dealers across the Kingdom and picked up one currency forger trying to smuggle quantities of counterfeit currency into Jordan, an official police source confirmed today, Sunday, to AlGhad.

The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) arrested 16 drug dealers and traffickers in Amman, Balqa, Zarqa, Karak, Irbid, the Central and Northern Badia districts, Madaba and Jerash.

Numerous raids and ambushes were carried out by joint security forces to apprehend the suspects, most of whom were found in possession of drugs.

Quantities of narcotics were confiscated inside their houses, cars and plantations, varying from Marijuana to synthetic weed (Joker) and narcotic pills.

As for the currency forger, he was picked up with more than 20 thousand counterfeit US dollars in his possession.

The location of his arrest remains undisclosed.

All of the detainees, with the exception of one case, are currently in custody to be further processed, facing charges that range from possession to dealing and promoting drugs, as well as currency forgery, the source confirmed.
