Makkah Quartet Summit at Midnight, King and Crown Prince Perform Umrah

AMMAN —AlGhad— An informed source confirmed to AlGhad that the Makkah quartet summit is scheduled to convene tonight, Sunday, at midnight, and is expected to conclude with the issuance of a closing statement around dawn.

His Majesty King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Hussein were received upon arrival in Jeddah by Saudi Prince Khaled al Feisal, and then proceeded to Makkah to perform the Umra ritual.

Later tonight, Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, alongside the Emirati and Kuwaiti heads of state, will meet with King Abdullah to discuss Jordan’s economic situation.

The summit will address ways of supporting the Kingdom in the face of the economic challenges at hand.

For the remainder of His Majesty’s time abroad, Prince Feisal bin Hussein has been sworn in as the King’s deputy, in the presence of the Cabinet.
