AMMAN —AlGhad— The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) foiled an attempt to smuggle 1.4 million narcotic pills out of Jordan and arrested four suspects in the process, found in possession of the pills in an undisclosed location in the Central Badia district.

A security source said AND personnel began an investigation a few days ago to follow up on information about a suspect, preparing to smuggle large quantities of drugs abroad.

Their investigation led to the location of the drugs in the Central Badia region and the apprehension of the main suspect and three accomplices, the source added.

He also noted that the detainees are being interrogated and a full scale investigation was launched into the case, before referring the suspects to the State Security Court.
