MAFRAQ - Some 802 Syrian refugees entered the Kingdom over the past 24 hours after fleeing their country due to the ongoing war, Director of Syrian Refugee Camp Affairs Wadah Hmoud said.

Hmoud told Petra on Thursday that the concerned authorities had taken all measures to ensure that the refugees were taken care of and offered all necessary services.

Hmoud added that 71 Syrian refugees had voluntarily returned to their country upon their own request, while no refugee had asked for a guarantee to stay in the country.

A total of 587,750 Syrians crossed into Jordan since the conflict began in their country about three years ago. Only 135,708 of these live in refugee camps while the rest are residing with host communities in various parts of the Kingdom.

Jordan is working in coordination with all the concerned authorities in taking all measures to ensure that the refugees were taken care of and offered all necessary services. (Petra)
