Knesset member, Jewish extremists storm Al Aqsa

RAMALLAH — Right-wing Israeli lawmaker who recently submitted a proposal to end the Hashemite guardianship over Muslim and Christian holy places in Jerusalem,  stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem on Wednesday.

Accompanied by a group of extremist Jewish settlers, Moshe Feiglin walked into the the compound under heavy security presence.

Director of Jerusalem's Religious Endowments (Waqf) Foundation, Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, said in a statement that Feiglin provocatively broke into the courtyard of the Mosque under the escort of Israeli soldiers and intelligence officers.

 

Feiglin has recently submitted a proposal to the Knesset to end the Hashemite guardianship over Muslim and Christian holy places in Jerusalem. (Petra)
