KERAK — Hundreds of workers at the Abyad fertilisers and chemicals factory held a sit-in today, Sunday,  in front of the Company’s headquarters in Amman, in protest to revoking the labourers demands.

Striking workings along with members of the Jordan General Trade Union of Workers in Mining and Metal Industries, gathered in Abdullah Ghosheh Street where the Company’s offices are, declaring the sit-it will continue until their demands are met.

The Company’s management has suspended 18 protesting workers, according to the Company Union representative.

The strike has led to a general paralysis of the production points at the factory, as it continues in front of the factory’s main entrance, with the presence of police personnel in their vicinity.
