Government Exempt Natural Gas Imports from Customs

AMMAN —Al Ghad— The Cabinet recently agreed to exempt liquidated natural gas importations from the 30 per cent custom fee with the retention of sales taxation; the Kingdom’s imports of Natural Gas in 2015 amounts to JOD33.75 million compared to JOD33.01 million the year before.

Jordan’s daily consumption of liquidated natural gas imported through the new docks in Aqaba hovers around 350 million cubic feet, and generates around 85 per cent of the Kingdom’s electricity.
