Business Council: A New Model for Economic Cooperation between Jordan and Russia Must Be Established

AMMAN — Representatives of the Jordanian and Russian private sectors met yesterday, Monday, at the 8th Joint Jordan-Russian Business Council conference held at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, to discuss the introduction of a new economic cooperative model for investments, trade, and joint projects between the two countries. The conference was attended by official and diplomatic delegations.

According to Statistics Department data, Jordan exports, mainly of produce, medicine, and cosmetics, to Russia last year reached JOD3.06 million, while importations from Russia amounted to nearly JOD270.9 million of wheat, barley, woods, iron, and cars.

The Business Council was established in 2013 to vitalise and develop commercial and economic relations with Russia.
