Three Police Violence and Torture Cases Referred to Police Court

AMMAN — Government human rights coordinator Basel Tarawneh stated that 3 cases of police violence, expected to include torture by police officers or personnel, have been referred to the attention of the Police Court, according to Petra news agency Monday.

In accord to article 208 of the Jordanian criminal law, said Tarawneh, these cases have been turned over to the specialised parties to be reviewed and sentenced, insuring that all measures of integrity and transparency are in place by the authorities of the Court and the District Attorney Geneal.
