Constitutional Amendments to Be Deliberated Wednesday

AMMAN — The Lower House of Parliament, presided by President Eng Atef Tarawneh, passed today, Sunday the amended 2015 Central Bank legislation, with the Cabinet present.

Additionally, the Audit Bureau reports for the years 2009-2013 have been scheduled for Tuesday, with the 2016 Constitutional Amendments to be covered over two —morning and evening— sessions Wednesday.

As for the Central Bank legislation, the bill grants the Central bank of Jordan (CBJ) the authority to monitor and supervise the Country’s national payable system and set the tender auctions the Bank supervises, with the extended authority to organise financial institutions under the monitory umbrella of the CBJ.
