The Second Jordan Energy Summit in May

AMMAN —Al Ghad— The Minister of Energy and Mineral resources, Dr Ibrahim Saif, stated Monday, that the Second Jordan Energy Summit will be held on 16th and 17th of May this year, 2016, noting that the Summit aims to shed light on a the issues of energy and Jordan’s role in this regard, particularly in face of the current challenges and investments in the fields.

The Summit, according to Dr Saif, will also focus on electrical junction between countries of the region, and privileges in mining and mineral resources, second to topics including the fourth expansion of the Jordan Petroleum Refinery, the latest developments of the Iraq-Jordan oil pipeline, shale oil, and projects in Jordan.

The Summit will cover infrastructural prospects of the sector, and will be attended by a variety of private and public sector figures, regional and international, in addition to the presence of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the World Energy Council, and the World Bank.
