The King’s Visit to Riyadh: Memo to Establish Saudi-Jordanian Coordination Council

AMMAN — His Majesty, King Abdullah II, and Saudi Monarch, Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, held talks in the Saudi capital Riyadh today, Wednesday, focused on latest regional developments, and means to address them in the common interests of both countries.

The two Monarchs signed a memo to establish a Saudi-Jordanian Coordination Council in Riyadh that will be chaired by Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Minister of Defence Mohammad Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, and Jordanian Prime Minister, Abdullah Nsour.

The council aims to boost strategic ties between the two countries as well as consultations and coordination on bilateral, regional and international issues to achieve the aspirations of the two countries' leaderships and peoples. The council will meet alternately in both countries in line with the memo.

Upon arrival at the airport, His Majesty was received by Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, a number of royal family members, senior Saudi officials as well as Jordan's ambassador in Riyadh.
