Royal Jordanian Cut Losses by JOD1 Million

AMMAN —Al Ghad— The Royal Jordanian (RJ) airways company cuts JOD1 million off operational losses over the first quarter of 2016, compared to the figures of the same period in 2015, from JOD8.3 million to JOD7.3 million, indicating a 13 per cent improvement on loss management performance, in spite of unfair competition.

In a press statement made today, Wednesday, RJ speakers explained that despite of the 5 per cent decrease in revenue scored over the first quarter of the current year, from JOD148.4 million to JOD140.4 million, that was caused by the drop in ticket prices, due to declining oil prices worldwide, the Royal Jordanian were able to achieve profits off the continuous enhancement in services and the commitment of its 5-year plan initiated in 2015, noting that profits have reached JOD21 million by the end of last year, after having suspended flights to 9 directions; Delhi, Pompey, Colombo, Lagos, Accra, Milano, Alexandria, Al Ein, and Kiev.
